In Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace 2023 revealed that the UK remains one of the least engaged workforces in Europe, ranking 33 out of 38 among countries.

Striking the right balance between providing top-notch service to clients and safeguarding the well-being of your workforce presents a substantial challenge.

If you want some guidance then do this:

𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞
What do you see, hear and feel when you observe interactions between people? Do you feel satisfied and confident that services to clients are being delivered to the highest level? Is your team consistently motivated, giving their best effort each day, or do you notice signs of waning enthusiasm, interpersonal conflicts, and a negative atmosphere?

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭
Pay attention to your instincts and perceptions because they may signal an underlying problem that demands resolution. Ignoring what you see, hear and feel could result in the loss of your most talented employees and the potential for a toxic work environment.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦
Your challenges could stem from a variety of areas including:

·        Ineffective supervision

𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 1
Ask employees how they feel about working for your firm. Do they feel included, valued and respected? You can collect this information by survey, but make sure you use closed ended questions?  To dig deeper conduct focus groups. No more than 10 and ask open ended questions to gain a deeper insight.

𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 2
Analyse responses together with quantitative data, such as: productivity metrics, retention rate and time per hire. Are there any common themes and patterns? What needs to change?

𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 3
Take necessary actions to enhance the employee experience to resolve identified issues. Consider if your values are still appropriate or whether training is required  for specific individuals and teams.

𝘚𝘵𝘦𝘱 4
Continuously monitor business outcomes, performance metrics, and employee behaviours through short pulse surveys and one-on-one meetings.
